Notice of Intention - Temp Road Closure R704 Garrandarragh, Mullinavat

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROADS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the intention of Kilkenny County Council to close to traffic the following public road within the Piltown Municipal District to facilitate essential pavement repair works being undertaken by Irish Rail.

R704 –  at level crossing XL157 Garrandarragh,  Mullinavat

 

Via L3424, L3420 and L7451

Note, this route includes a low bridge at Mullinavat

 

Diversion of HGVs

Northbound traffic will divert along R448 and R713 towards Junction 10 on the M9, then travel Southwards on M9 to Junction 11

 

Southbound traffic will divert along R448 and R861 towards Grannagh Junction roundabout on N25 dual carriageway, then travel Northwards on M9 to Junction 11

Alternative routes will be signposted. 

Any person objecting to the proposed temporary closure of this road may lodge their objection in writing to the undersigned not later than 5.00pm on Monday, 6th July, 2026.
